Fosse Ward - Beat Team Weekly Update

Good evening,

Here is this week's snapshot of how your Fosse Neighbourhood Policing Team have addressed some of the concerns you have raised during recent surveys.

Thieves on the Fosse Ward

PC John this week was flying solo on a bank holiday Monday when a call came in about a male who was trying to sneak away with some beautiful bouquets. As PC John was already on patrol on the Fosse Ward he was on scene within minutes and caught him red handed, even creating a lovely poem that we posted earlier this week on Facebook.

‘Are you 'orchidding' me? This guy decided he did not want to pay for this selection of flowers on Fosse Road North! 🌻

Oopsie 'daisy'. He only managed to run around the corner straight into an officer who suspected there were too many flowers for that special someone... 🙄

PC John 'rose' to the occasion and sent the amateur florist back to the store where the flowers were put back and he is now banned 🚫

Last 'bud' not least the shop staff were happy with the result and thanked us a 'bunch'! 👍

Burglars on the Fosse Ward

We are seeing an increase of the reports for Residential Burglaries in recent weeks. The main motive for each of these jobs is that windows or back doors are being left open and people have been sneaking around to look for opportunities. Please ensure you double check your windows and doors before heading to bed each night and that you draw your curtains closed so valuables cannot be viewed easily from passers-by. We will be continuing our patrols as always and dealing with suspicious behaviour but please call 101, or 999 if appropriate if you see any suspicious behaviour!

Anti-Social Behaviour on the Fosse Ward

Over the last few weeks/months you may have seen us post about patrolling local stores such as ALDI on Woodgate and LIDL on Fosse Road North, due to youths committing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). We are happy to say that after information gathering and partnership working, we have placed the main trouble causer on what is called an ‘Acceptable Behaviour Contract’. This ensures that if he is caught causing issues again, he can be dealt with through the courts and risks being moved away from our area. We do not believe he will be causing us any issues anytime too soon! As planned, now that this ringleader has been dealt with and made an example it appears his friends have also been scared away from causing more issues at your local shops.

Any concerns or questions please reply and it will notify us!

Have a safe week!
