A round up of our beat priorities #yousaid #wedid

The Forest Beat Team would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄⛄

Please see below for a summary of our priorities #yousaid #wedid

You said - Issues of anti-social behaviour in Moira particular in the areas of Conkers, Moira Furnace and the Miners Welfare Club.

We did - Regular high visibility patrols of the areas concerned took place and we continue to liaise with staff at the locations. Young people have been spoken to and searches completed where appropriate.

Young people have been engaging well with officers., we work closely with staff at the locations to ensure any issues are fully investigated.

We have completed further patrols and continue to engage with users of the sites. We are attending in the early evening and will continue to visit during the darker evenings.

We have conducted beat engagements at the location and continue to liaise with staff. Following on from public consultation we have completed targeted patrol strategies and will continue to give attention to specific sites causing issues.

You said - address speeding concerns along Acresford Road in Donisthorpe.

We did - We carried out multiple speeding enforcement operations in the area you have highlighted to us as having repeated issues with speeding motorists, with a large number of vehicles being checked. Of these, we are pleased to report that a minimal number were travelling over the speed limit. We will continue to complete checks to be a visible deterrent to speeding and dangerous road users.

This has resulted in words of advice and enforcement being issued to motorists in the area.

Further speed checks have been completed and we are liaising with local residents to address any further concerns.

You said - Anti social behaviour and suspected drug dealing in the area of Occupation Road, Albert Village is a concern.

We did - Regular patrols of the areas with the aim to reduce the issues of ASB and using our stop and search powers to identify and detect any drug related offences.

As a beat team we have patrolled the areas of concern paying attention to early evenings when issues are reported to be worse. Please continue to report concerns to us.

Further patrols have been completed by the beat team and residents have been spoken to. We continue to work with partners to seek long term resolutions to on-going issues.

The beat team has spent a considerable amount of time patrolling in this area, we are developing intelligence and continue to monitor any poor behaviour reported.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year
