||
|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of a trailer being stolen from the Workhouse Lane area at around 13:00 on the 7th of October, officers attended the area and located and recovered the trailer, as well as a vehicle suspected to be involved. The investigation is ongoing, so if you have any information, please get in touch. 25000589284.
Report from Sketchley Road (near Twycross Road) that on the 8th at around 01:50, two suspects have entered a property from the back garden and broke the lock on a side door, entering the kitchen. Thankfully the house alarm went off, and the suspects ran towards Brightmores. If you have any CCTV in this area, please get in touch 25000590572
A Skoda key has been handed in a Burbage Parish Council. If it is yours, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk or visit the Parish Council on Britannia Road.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have completed multiple home visits with Hinckley Council to resolve and take action regarding neighbour issues.
We have also been dealing with parking complaints in the area. We appreciate parking is difficult, even for residents, but please ensure vehicles are parked in a safe position and leave room for wheelchairs/prams on the footpath. I have seen a video this week where a very young child nearly got run over, partially due to vehicles being dumped on junctions, which then has an impact on other road users and pedestrians.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
A resident has been in touch to raise awareness around further scam messages, claiming to be from the department for work and pensions. The messages provide a link and phone number in order for you to submit an application for the winter fuel payment. PLEASE DO NOT respond to these types of messages. If you have any queries regarding support, please directly visit the Government website Winter Fuel Payment: Overview - GOV.UK or the Age UK website has information around this Winter Fuel Payment: eligibility, updates and how to claim | Age UK
Our Confidence survey is open until the end of the month, so if you haven’t already, it would be appreciated if you can take a few moments (think there are six questions and a comments box) to complete it. https://survey.neighbourhoodlink.co.uk/Survey/GUID/e4207acb-bd0b-4000-b735-d4ae32bcffd6
Thank you and take care.
