General, Local News.

Good morning Earl Shilton and Barwell.

We have no significant updates in terms of crime around the area. Your beat team are still monitoring ASB in local parks and have been carrying out checks on vehicles and people where we have reasonable grounds to do so.

We would like to make you aware of areas surrounding Earl Shilton and Barwell being hit for burglaries. Luckily (touch wood) we have not had any major concerns for burglaries in Earl Shilton and Barwell. With the summer holidays approaching and the warmer weather we would like to remind people to be mindful of home security.
Easy to enter, open windows, when you are not about may provide opportunities for criminals to take car keys, cash or jewellery.
If you are planning on going on holiday, please consider house alarms and other home security such as PIR sensor alarms, window alarms, alarmed padlocks and light timers.

We have been made aware of a suspicious individual walking round Montgomery Road, Parry Close and Columbus Lane, Earl Shilton in early hours. This is following a car being broken into on Parry Close on Thursday 16th with work tools being taken. The tools have since been located in the undergrowth on Montgomery Walk and returned to the owner. We are asking people if they are to see anyone looking suspicious walking round these areas to make a note of their description and report it either through Leicestershire police website or via 101.

With summer holidays approaching we are anticipating more ASB issues on the beat. Please ensure if you have children they keep themselves safe when out with friends and they avoid any situations where they could be causing issues for residents in the local community.
We will be very active on Neighbourhood link and social media throughout the holidays with updates and appeals to the public should we need help with CCTV, witnesses etc.

A reminder that tomorrow (21/06) is the Earl Shilton beat surgery outside the Methodist Church. PCSO Reed will be there from 10:00-12:00.

Kind regards,
The beat team.
