Melton Town North - Monthly Update

October's Monthly Update:

In October we received intelligence concerning drug use on the beat which is one of our top 3 beat priorities. We have been actively patrolling areas that have been brought to our attention. Proactive work has been carried out to target those dealing drugs around the town with multiple arrests being made and drugs seized. These investigations are ongoing.

Road safety is another priority for the beat and thanks to reports from various members of the public we have been able to track down and seize a number of vehicles driving without the right documentation. We have also issued a number of section 59 warnings to those driving in an antisocial manner, should they continue, their vehicles will then be seized.

Reports of Antisocial Behaviour have decreased, with ASB being a beat priority of ours, we are pleased about this. We have seen a decrease in reports around certain hotspots on the beat, and have been given feedback that our presence has helped lessen the antisocial activity in these areas.

We have also seen a decrease in Public Order and Traffic offences this month. Unfortunately though, there has been an increase in Criminal Damage reports on the beat, all these reports are being handled by officers in case who will be investigating any further lines of enquiry.

Last month, we had 8 reports of Burglaries, which is 3 more than what we received in September. We continue to ask residents to double check their doors are locked, and where possible, use motion activated lighting. if you can, install home security devices such as ring doorbells and CCTV cameras. Increased patrols will continue on our side to deter this activity.
