Good Afternoon All
Here is a summary of key matters within the Westcotes for last week:
In recent days we are starting to receive reports of Burglaries at Homes within the area surrounding Fosse Road South. These incidents often relate to insecure doors and intruders then walking into properties to steal electrical items. In this short few days we have arrested x2 separate individuals for Burglaries in this area, which is a great result and these address were a short time after the alleged breaks ins too.
Further to this several residents within the area of Andrewes Walk, may have noticed that a property is now boarded and secured. This was due to ongoing issues of Anti-Social Behaviour. The tenant was evicted following partnership work with the Housing Provider. This is a last resort and various support options were attempted prior to this result. I have no doubt this eviction will have a positive impact for the nearby community.
Staying with properties, earlier this week the team have been to a few vacant properties in the Westcotes as they had been misused for drugs or Anti-Social Behaviour. The addresses were have located were secured and contact with relevant landlords or local authority. We ask that if you own an property that is vacant, then please make sure you have good security measures or check on the address regularly.
Also last we a Joint Patch Walk was completed of Bede Park with our partners from the Council including, Ward cllrs, Parks, Lighting & DMU Security etc. Following this meeting we will be looking at various changes to improve the park further. We are also aware of previous issues within the Gym area by people drinking and causing ASB. This aspects should assist re reducing the issues there. So Watch this space..
Next Community - Beat Surgery is - 6th Nov 10am to midday at Tesco Western Blvd with PCSO 6536 Ushma Gadhia.
Thanks
