What is knife crime? Knife crime is any crime involving a knife or sharp object and includes: An offensive weapon is defined as any item that has been made or adapted for the intention to cause harm to another person. Self-defence or self-protection are not valid reasons for carrying a knife or offensive weapon, and this choice could have serious consequences for that person, including serious or fatal injury to themselves or others, and a criminal record. Leicestershire Police are continually committed to driving down Knife Crime, and from 11th to 17th November we have ‘Anti-Knife-Crime’ week running, this is an initiative that will help Police highlight the fear and impact that carrying knives can have on communities. On Saturday 16th November from 10am-12noon, PCSO 6008 Laura Bolton will be available at Market Harborough Library, for anyone that has any questions or concerns regarding knife crime in their area, and for anyone that has concerns about anyone that they know who habitually carries a knife. All information passed to Police, even anonymously, will be treated confidentially. | ||||
