Burbage Police. Suspects Up to No Good Appeal, Smashed Window And Text Scam.


Hello Resident,

 

We have received multiple reports of 2 suspects trying car door handles, and in one case, pouring milk over a vehicle and through the letterbox. So far, reports are from areas such as Manor way (01:00), Troon Way (01:45) and Crownhill Road (02:10) on the morning of the 14th of November. 

 

A grey Carrera bicycle has been found dumped on Troon Way today, it you have one missing, please pop me an email. 

 

If you live around these areas, please check your CCTV and send me any good CCTV of these males that may help us identify them. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk

 

Two Motorbikes (at least one stolen) were recovered by Police from the Watling Street area. Please be reminded to ensure bikes are locked away securely, even if you are visiting shops or at work.

 

Report of a smashed vehicle window where a suspect has thrown a beer bottle and plant pot through the window on The Meadows, sometime between 20:00-20:30 on the evening of the 13th of December. The suspect may have left the area towards Pickering Place. Please get in touch if you saw or have any CCTV of a male running of from this direction. 

 

Report of a non-stop collision on Hinckley Road junction near Forrester Road on Tuesday 12th between midday and 13:20. We are currently investigating this incident. Please be mindful around a “winter fuel payment” text scam that is currently going around. This link Scammers target UK senior citizens with Winter Fuel Payment texts is really worth a read and has some very detailed information on the scam. Please share this information with neighbours/family/friends, to reduce the chances of anyone falling victim to this as they do look very convincing. 

 

We have had several reports recently relating to concerns around XL Bull Dogs. No reported incidents, more around owners not complying with the recent new laws. Please take a look at the below links if you wish to find out more regarding the laws.

We will be attending the Indoor Christmas Market in Aid of the Emma Shaw Foundation Charity, on Sunday the 17th of November 2024 from 12:00-16:00. There will be lots of stalls, raffles, tombola and warm drinks. Pop along to this event at Burbage Millennium Hall LE102HF for a bit of Christmas fun.
