Door to Door Callers

Good afternoon Neighbourhood Link member,

Local Neighbourhood Officers have been made aware that there are individuals going door-to-door in our area, asking for money or donations. While many of these requests may seem genuine, it’s important to stay cautious. Sadly, not all door-to-door solicitors are truthful, and some could be attempting scams.

For everyone’s safety, here are a few reminders:

Do Not Give Cash – Avoid giving cash or personal financial details to anyone who comes to your door unexpectedly.

Ask for Identification – Legitimate organisations provide ID badges and information about their cause. Feel free to ask questions or request printed materials before considering a donation.

Consider Alternative Ways to Give – If you’re interested in supporting a cause, reach out directly to verified organisations, rather than making spontaneous contributions.

Report Suspicious Activity – If you feel uncomfortable or suspect someone may be a scammer, don’t hesitate to make the Police aware.

Thank you
