Melton Rural South Newsletter

December Newsletter

Introduction

Your Melton Rural south team - on the left is PC Ben Tranter and on the right is PCSO Andrew French

Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the Melton Rural South Neighbourhood Policing Area

(NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.

PCSO Andrew French

#YouSaid - What matters to you

Feedback from beat surgeries, community engagements and Neighbourhood Link highlights that the following matter to you:

Rural thefts, road safety and use of drugs.

#WeDid - What we are doing

In response to your concerns we have been patrolling at night and stopping vehicles that give us cause for concern.  PCSO French

has conducted speed monitoring at key speeding hotspots across the beat.

Recently the team were involved in finding cannabis grows on the beat, arrests were made.  We ask that you continue to report

suspicious activity to us.

November has been a busy month for PC Tranter and PCSO French. Of course, November marks Remembrance Day and PC Tranter

was policing one of the parades which is something we are all proud to do. Later that day he responded to reports of an aggressive

male at Gates Garden Centre who was promptly arrested, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Both PC Tranter and PCSO French attended the Grimston Parish Council meeting holding an hour’s Q and A with those present which proved to be very popular. PCSO French will also be attending the Hoby Parish Council meeting later this month.

The one thing that both PC Tranter and PCSO French are told is how much it is appreciated that they both conduct  high visibility

foot patrols in the villages across the beat. In November they were conducted in Asfordby, Old Dalby, Gaddesby and Frisby -on-the- Wreake. The beat team will continue to do this as often as possible.

And then came the snow! Both PC Tranter and PCSO French have dealt with numerous broken down and abandoned vehicles on the

beat’s roads during the recent wintry weather conditions. The message is, as always, please drive with care.
