During November we showed our respect at the Remembrance Parade in Blaby and across the district where our very own Inspector Allingham laid a wreath to honour those who have served and fallen. It was great to see yet again a huge turnout from the community. Special constables Tom and Leanna joined PCSO's Calum and Ellis at the Blaby light switch on. It was a very busy but fun evening and we hope all who attended enjoyed the festivities. A number of youths were given warnings for using E-Scooters and for anti-social behaviour. Those whom we spoke to allegedly didn't know the law around E-Scooters so were educated around the current legislation. Numerous calls were received in relation to youths climbing the Blaby Precinct Christmas Tree and stealing baubles and then throwing them at passing vehicles. Some of the youths have been identified and are being dealt with. Mid November saw the beginning of Anti-Social Behaviour Week. The week of action targeted anti-social behaviour and looked to disrupt individuals who choose to cause harassment, alarm and distress to the local community. Your beat team increased their high visibility patrols in locations where you've reported issues. ASB takes on many different forms, from aggressive, noisy or abusive behaviour to neighbourhood issues such as drugs. We work with partner agencies such as local councils, housing and wellbeing services to tackle and prevent ASB using a problem solving approach to achieve the best results. Launching in December on local areas is Operation Flux which is dedicated to tackling local road safety issues. We have already identified some areas that will be targeted but also looking for other local issues such as Speeding, Weight limit breaches, Street racing, E-Scooter use, targeting drink and drug drivers and general Fatal5 issues. |
