Meeting Update - Central Leicester - Local Independent Advisory Group

Text Box:

Local Independent Advisory Group (LIAG)
Central Leicester

We held our forth Local Independent Advisory Group (LIAG) meeting on the 7th November 2024 at De Montfort University. It was great for the group to meet each other again and go through the plans for how the group will move forward and develop.
Some key highlights were:
•	A review of the previous actions and minutes.

•	The group held discussions in relation to how members incorporate community feedback into the meetings and how the effectiveness of the meetings of this is evaluated by the LIAG on behalf of the local community. This was a very useful area of conversation that highlighted representation of the members of the Central LIAG and what reach the members have in the community versus providing their own opinion on matters within their community. The group concluded that whilst the Central Leicester LIAG is well represented, reach of members is unknown and an area that will be reviewed by our members and reported back on.

•	Based on the discussions above, the group discussed the requirement and importance of having members that are representative of the community within Leicester City Centre. If you are interested in becoming a member please visit the following website to apply; Independent Advisory Groups | Leicestershire Police (leics.police.uk)

•	Central Leicester LIAG will meet again on 6th February 2025.
