#WeDid - What we are doingPriority 1: ASB
During the month of December the Beat Team have continued to patrol the ASB hotspot areas pointed out to us by local residents and the parish council such as, Fowke Street, Mountsorrel Lane, Warren Way car park and Kinchley Lane both on foot and in a marked vehicle. We have visited and spoken with those identified as being involved in any anti-social behaviour and sanctioned in accordance with our anti social behaviour incremental approach. Our beat team have continued to work closely with partner agencies such as the local council and housing associations, schools, highways and any other appropriate agency. If you see any ASB please report it to us via 101 or online.
Priority 2: Speeding vehicles.
Speed Ops 09/12/24 – Forest Road, Woodhouse Majority of vehicles sticking to the speed limit of 165 vehicles monitored 6 travelling between 33-35mph, warnings issued. 27/11/24 – Main Street, Swithland Majority of vehicles sticking to the speed limit 7 vehicles out of 87 travelling above 35mph. Details reported where suitable to the Road safety partnership for inclusion of mobile speed camera consideration. We have been actively patrolling as part of the winter drink drive campaign in an effort to make the roads around the villages safer. We will continue to conduct speed checks at different locations and times across the villages within Charnwood West within the new year.
Priority 3: Burglaries Burglary patrols continue to occur daily. Local beat officers and response officers across Charnwood NPA have conducted foot and vehicle patrols in the daytime and evenings. Residents have been visited to offer crime prevention advice and encouraged to sign up to Neighbourhood Link to enable more people to receive this advice from the police. We also continue to visit victims of crime and burglary to offer further advice and make homes a harder target.
The team will be reviewing the quarterly beat priorities in January 2025, please have your say shaping what we do across your area by filling in our online survey on Neighbourhood Link, alternatively send us a message.
