#YouSaid - What matters to you
Our last last quarter priorities were
Anti Social Behaviour and drug use
Speeding
Road safety
#WeDid - What we are doing
Priority 1: ASB and drug use.
The beat team have been patrolling the following ASB hotspot areas over the past month:
Both allotments in Anstey
Gorse Hill, Anstey
The sports field off Netherfield Road / Link Road in Anstey
Bradgate Park
Papermill Close and Recreational ground in Anstey
There have been recent reports of knock door running around the village of Anstey by youths, patrols have been stepped up in response, as well as patrols being upped around the Groby Road allotments due to reports of tresspass and ASB. We are seeing the numbers of incidents reported falling in these areas due to an arrest that was made regarding the suspect to the majority of these incidents, which is great news. This suspect will be spending the next couple of months or so in prison out of the way! Warning letters have been handed to residents in relation to a disturbance at an address which has so far seen reports of further issues stop. Police have had sporadic reports of drug use in various parts of Anstey. We continue to act on those reports and also to build an intelligence picture where suspected dealing is occurring to assist with future enforcement operations.
Priority 2: Speeding vehicles.
The beat team conducted a short covert speed operation during this month and the results are as follows:
Cropston Road, Anstey
30mph and under – 125 cars 92.59%
31-35mph – 8 cars 5.93%
36-40mph – 1 car 0.74%
41+ mph – 1 car 0.74%
Anstey Lane, Thurcaston
30mph and under – 76 cars 95%
31-35mph – 4 cars 5%
36-40mph – 0 cars 0%
41+ - 0 cars 0%
Results are passed to the road safety team for consideration of placement of mobile camera enforcement. The team will also follow this up with enforcement operations after the holidays.
Priority 3: Road safety issues.
The beat team have been patrolling the local schools, such as the Anstey Martins High School, Woolden Hill and the Newtown Linford
Primary School, monitoring peoples’ parking and offering advice when needed. The beat team are continuing to speak with e-scooter users in the village, to pass on advice regarding the legality of the scooters though reports have been few. The beat team will continue to attempt to act where possible regarding off road bike users, such as issuing a section 59 notice. Again we have received no recent reports.
We have actively been patrolling as part of the Winter drink drive campaign in an effort to make the roads around the villages safer. So far no reports have been made .
The team will be reviewing quarterly beat priorities in January. We encourage you to have your say and shape what we do across your area. Messages can be received through Neighbourhood Link, through the force website and via the surveys from the QR code below
