Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the Mountsorrel [Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA NL57.
#YouSaid - What matters to youWe have listened to you and the concerns you raised and have prioritised the following –
Priority 1: The beat team aim to tackle different elements of ASB in Mountsorrel You said: You have concerns around antisocial behaviour across the village. We will continue to try and disrupt this type of behaviour and use the ASB incremental approach to deter offenders.
Priority 2: The beat team aim to target reports of speeding in Mountsorrel. You said: You are concerned about vehicles speeding in the villages. We will continue to monitor and enforce speed across several sites in the village.
Priority 3: Burglaries. We aim to work with the relevant authorities to reduce the burglaries across the village and to try and reduce the number of reported thefts from the recycling centre. Visiting victims and offering crime prevention advice.
#WeDid - What we are doing
Priority 1: The beat team aim to tackle different elements of ASB in Mountsorrel During the month of December, the Beat Team have patrolled the ASB hotspot areas pointed out to us by local residents and the parish council such as, Halstead Road, The Green, Castle Park and Gilliver Drive, in a marked vehicle. We have visited and spoken with those identified as being involved in any anti-social behaviour. Our beat team have been working closely with partner agencies such as the local council and housing associations to tackle any issues which have been reported.

Priority 2: The beat team aim to target reports of speeding in Mountsorrel.
Speed Ops
On Tuesday 10th December 2024 speed checks were completed on Leicester Road, Mountsorrel and there were 104 vehicles monitored out of which 7 were going between the speed of 35mph and 37 mph, who were sent a warning letter. When we speak with the public they mention that speeding is a concern for them. The Beat Team will continue to complete speed checks within the area.
Priority 3: Burglaries
Burglary patrols are happening daily. Local beat officers and response officers across Charnwood NPA have been In vehicle patrols in the daytime and evenings. We do provide some crime prevention on our police website. We also continue to visit victims of crime and burglary to offer further advice and make homes a harder target
