Darker Nights

Concluding the quarterly updates for Darker Nights the team have continued with dedicated high visibility patrols in areas where crime pattern suggests acquisitive crime may be committed. This has had a significant impact by providing public reassurance by being visible in our community and deterring crime.

Theft from persons
Over the Christmas period, historically there has been an increase in thefts from person. To combat this the team have increased the number of beat surgeries and engagements giving crime prevention advice to prevent offences from occurring.

Business Crime
Again, over the Christmas period there has been an increase in business crime. The beat team have increased patrols within businesses to show a high visibility presence. Offenders have been spoken too whilst there have been charges for offences support has been also been offered to curtail their offending and to prevent further offending.
