Dear residents of the Rural South policing area,
We hope you had a peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The below are the beat's policing priorities as identified by consultation with the public and what we know as police:
RURAL THEFTS: A vast majority of this policing area is rural and farming community. In recent years offenders have targeted us at farm yards, business premises, works sites etc. You have asked that we keep the levels of offences low with pro-active policing and that is what we will do with the help of the Rural Policing Team and their excellent work.
DRUGS: Information and intelligence is submitted to us regularly. Reports of drug use in public spaces is taken seriously and we will regularly patrol those areas and deal with what we find until it stops. We also work closely with Melton Borough Council and private housing agencies to issue warnings or in some case submit evidence fore civil evictions.
ROAD SAFETY: One of the biggest areas of risk to the Rural South beat public is through road traffic incidents; collisions, obstructions and traffic offences. We have unfortunately had a number of fatalities on the beat in the last few years and we make it our business to run operations to reduce the number of injuries and fatalities.

Thanks to everyone that assists us in our daily business.
Thanks,
