***Melton Police Commander update***

Good evening, I would like to take this opportunity to update the community further on the recent retail burglaries in Melton Town. As you are already aware, three adult males were arrested on 30th December which resulted in two being charged with multiple offences and one released on police bail pending further enquiries. The first male charged pleaded guilty at court and was given a two week suspended sentence, the other was released on conditional court bail pending a trial date being set. 

Unfortunately, two further offences were committed in the early hours of this morning. Whilst this is incredibly disappointing, I am pleased to update that we have arrested two adult males for these offences and they are currently in police custody. Local officers will continue to conduct overnight patrols in the area and once I have an update on the suspects in custody I will let you know.

🚓 I have noticed comments regarding Melton Police Station NOT being open 24 hours, I want to reassure you all that this is not the case at all, the station is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year!!
