You are receiving the following email as a resident living on the Freemen Police Beat.

Tackling drug supply remains a priority for the local team, last Monday (27/01/25) a massive cannabis grow was discovered in a warehouse in the Oakland Road area off Welford Road.

A follow up call was made to a member of the public who reported seeing some suspicious activity this ultimately led to the grow being discovered after officers attended the location. Upon entering the warehouse, a vast number of plants were found which have now all been cleared. 

An investigation is now underway to determine and identify those involved and at this stage I am unable to offer any more specific details.

This is a hugely positive result for not just the local team but the wider South Leicester Policing team as well that will prevent a large amount of cannabis being supplied/dealt in the community.
