Good evening Rutland North,
My late shift started with multiple school patrols – this included some really positive community engagement with parents and school children, so thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat and those who gave a smile and a wave.
I then responded to an emergency report of a missing person with PC Hughes. This was a very challenging incident involving searching very wet, very muddy fields in the rain and in the dark. But it was all worth it when the missing person was found safe and well, they were appropriately safeguarded and partner agency referrals completed.
Boots jet washed off, it was time for PC Hughes to head home – only a few hours late off from her early shift! I then responded to another emergency report of someone walking on an unlit, un-paved, busy national speed limit road, wearing all black. Person found, all was in order – they were given a short lift to their destination to avoid incident and strong advice around trying this kind of thing again!
I then got out on my feet, on the street, on the beat! I completed some late evening foot patrols around Langham. There were a few late night dog walkers around who stopped for a chat, so thank you to you.
It was a satisfying day, full of team work, keeping people safe, and lots of positive face to face community engagement all across Rutland, from Great Casterton to Langham and lots inbetween.
The night shift response team are in and looking after you overnight.
Take care!
