On Saturday the 15th of February 2025 we deployed plain clothes officers in Market Harborough town centre after information was received of recent incidents where ATM’s had devices fitted to them to defraud customers. At 1555 hours 15th February 2025 a male Bogdan GASPAROV from Dagenham was detained after fitting two skimming devices to two ATMs in the town center. Several witnesses approached officers providing vital evidence which has secured several charges for theft and possession of articles with the intent to commit fraud. 

GASPAROV was remanded in custody to appear at Leicester Magistrates court on the 17/02/2025 where he was further remanded in custody to appear at Leicester crown court in April 2025. We would ask that you are vigilant when taking money out of ATM’s and if you see a suspect device, please notify the bank and the Police so that it can be forensically recovered. Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of this type of crime is asked to contact Leicestershire Police on 101.
