Your Neighbourhood Beat Team

The beat team have been actively engaging with the local community, conducting regular patrols and following up on our job queues. During one of our beat surgeries in early February, we received a report of youths causing antisocial behaviour on Fairhaven Road in Anstey. The individuals were leaving litter, including alcohol bottles, on the grass, which led to the local community having to clean up after them. This behaviour is unacceptable, and additional patrols have been carried out in the area as a result. Fortunately, there have been no further reports of such incidents.

Additionally, we conducted a patch walk in collaboration with Charnwood Council on Papermill Close in Anstey, in response to ongoing concerns regarding antisocial behaviour and drug dealing in the area. The meeting was productive, involving individuals who have been most affected by these issues. Moving forward, all partners will continue working together to address and eliminate these problems, ensuring the well being of the local community.

 Theft and vehicle crime

We’re aware that vehicle crime around the beat has risen over the month and this is of course very disappointing. This has occurred across much of south Charnwood and is being addressed as a force threat. As a beat team we are patrolling as much as possible, with 24/7 support from our response and force wide (firearms, dogs, traffic, etc) colleagues.
