Dear Resident,
Yesterday we stop checked a vehicle with the tyres pictured below. This resulted in the driver of the vehicle receiving a Vehicle Defect Form where they must rectify the vehicle’s defect with a MOT approved testing station within 14 days or potentially face prosecution.
Keeping your tyres legal is crucial for road safety. Here’s what you need to know:
Minimum Tread Depth: 1.6mm Check For: Cuts, bulges, and general wear. Make sure the tyre’s ply or cord is not exposed.
Driving with illegal tyres can lead to fines and points on your license.
You can keep up to date with what your local beat team gets up to by following us on social media: Oadby and Wigston Police | Facebook
Many thanks PC 168 Catherine and PS 2179 Mark
