Hello Resident,
We hope you are keeping well, thank you for taking the time to read our updates. Since our last update, we have received 35 calls to Police regarding matters in Burbage. 8 were emergency calls and 13 were priority calls.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Crime in Burbage this week has been related to business crime, theft from building sites and a few shoplifting incidents. We have spent a lot of time completing CCTV work and supporting with these investigations.
Residential concerns we have been dealing with include dog incidents, parking and other general road safety concerns.
We have also been completing safeguarding work and communicating with partner agencies to ensure appropriate and timely support/intervention is provided.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
As part of some pro-active work around youth related Anti-social Behaviour, we have been visiting local schools in Burbage over recent weeks, and on Wednesday, we completed presentations to years 7, 8 , 9 and 10 children at Hastings High School.
We also completed our monthly beat surgery at the Three Pots Post office where we spoke to multiple residents around issues such as vehicle crime, road safety and residential burglary. As always, it was a pleasure to catch up with Deepak and have a chat about local concerns. We even managed to get a photo of him smiling.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Whilst overall crime relating to residents such as vehicle theft and burglary remain low in Burbage, we are getting reports of suspicious activity and businesses are being targeted by criminals. Please stay vigilant and keep doors/windows and vehicles locked when you are not about, especially with the warmer weather it may be tempting to leave them insecure when you go out.
Thank you and take care.
