Rural South update

Rural South

For more up to date business I have been picking up the evening and late patrols again – thankfully the number of offences on the beat have dropped.

The fishing lake at Asfordby Hill – this is private property and membership required to fish it. It is also not for use by unaccompanied children due to the risks of the site and its previous use. I caught a group of children there today that had not paid, had no rod licences and had left the place in an absolute state with rubbish everywhere. To be fair to them they cleared their mess when told to and left peacefully, with some advice on how to do it properly so as not to totally ruin their fun.,

Other business attended to:

Respond to a collision in Redmile

Respond to a violence incident in Syston to assist Loughborough Police

Assist the Roads policing unit it hunting for a stolen vehicle

Respond to a violence incident in Melton

Respond to a report of a male trying car doors in Melton

In relation to road safety I had information that a new young driver living in a village on the beat had been driving too quickly. He was visited at home with his parents and had to endure a talk from his local bobby about his manner of driving….and the likely consequences. To be fair to the lad he listened up and took it what was said.

As the weather improves I have been spending time on the B6047 and similar roads with a view to keeping road casualties to a minimum. This year we have already had 4 x fatalities on our roads and I aim to run some sessions on the roads to prevent more.
