This afternoon the Ashby Beat team conducted a speeding operation in Ravenstone

Officers positioned themselves on a section of Ashby Road in the village which has a 30 MPH limit.

Traffic was moderate with 116 vehicles passing through the speed check.

It was encouraging to find that only 4 of those vehicles were travelling in excess of 30 MPH.

We would encourage the 4 offending drivers to make conscious choices on the road and prioritise their safety and the safety of other road users and pedestrians.

Please slow down and save lives. Speed limits are there for a reason. 

Action will be taken against those who exceeded the speed limit and the results fed back to the Force Road Safety Unit.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the 112 drivers who adhered to the speed limit.
