Hello Resident,
Just a quick update. Please continue to be mindful around bicycle and motorbike thefts in Burbage and the surrounding area. Whilst there has not been any reports over recent days in Burbage, we are aware of suspicious activity in the early hours where suspects may be targeting these types of vehicles. Please keep bikes out of sight and locked up. Use heavy duty chains, shed/garage alarms and call 999 immediately if you see a crime in progress.
We are completing lots of targeted patrols based on information and concerns raised by Burbage residents. Please feel free to get in touch with any concerns or information you may have relating to crime in Burbage. darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Whilst out on patrol, we noticed a couple of anxious looking residents. Upon speaking to them, we were made aware that several ducklings had fallen down a drain. If you were around Boyslade Road on Thursday and noticed my head down a drain, it was due to retrieving the ducklings. A big thank you to residents who noticed the ducklings and supported with retrieving them and getting them back where they belong. It is nice to have a good news story occasionally. They say every day is different and I did consider ducking out of this job but it would have driven me quackers knowing they were down there.
Great team work from local residents and the culprit drain.
We visited Hastings High School to speak to parents around a range of concerns and to discuss local youth related issues. This was a great opportunity to explain what issues we have locally, ways we deal with incidents involving young persons and how we work with partner agencies such as the council and schools. Overall the meeting went really well and was very productive. This meeting gave us an understanding of parent concerns but also gave us an opportunity to discuss and explain the work we do.
Thank you and take care.
