Dear Resident,
It is that time of the week when I update you in relation to what has been done around our Beat Priorities.
Speeding We completed speed checks on Tuesday 12th June 2025 on West Cross Lane within the village. We were at the location for thirty minutes during the evening rush hour. Seventy eight cars came passed us during a thirty minute period. Sixty seven cars were under the speed limit with eleven being over. We gave one verbal advice.
Burglary The highly visible patrols continue throughout the village. I have just checked the systems and there has been no reported burglaries over the last fourteen days.
ASB During the shift on Tuesday evening we received a report of a motor bike whereby the ridder was doing wheelies. We attended the location when the call came in but we searched the area and could not find the bike. However, we have got a vehicle registration for the bike and the ridder is being visited in due course and informed what will happen if a Police Officer in uniform sees him acting in such a way.
For those residents who are not aware Section 59 of the Police Reform Act, allows us to issue a S59 warning on vehicles/individuals where we can prove vehicles are being driven in an anti-social way when the offence is seen by an Officer in uniform. Once the warning is issued and there is another incident reported in a twelve month period either on the vehicle or individual another S59 can be issued and the vehicle will be seized. A section 59 can only be issued when a police officer in uniform sees the offence.
We have also received two reports this week of ASB on the park on Gilliver Road. We are stepping up patrols in the area. | ||||
