Priority 1 To reduce and prevent cycle theft in the City Centre
YOU SAID: -Theft of bikes is a concern for you in the City Centre and you would like to see more work to prevent it.
*JUNE UPDATE* -During this priority we have conducted 8 dedicated bike register events to increase the security of your trusted 2 wheeled transport. Although this priority is now coming to end we have another wave of registration events coming up. Please look at the events section of our website for upcoming events. -Don’t forget we still have project re-lock to help if you have been the victim of bike theft. Any person who has been victim to a theft of their bike is entitled to receive a free gold standard D-lock, have their new bike signed up to the Bike Register and receive prevention advice from the Police. So far we have helped 26 victims get back on the saddle. -We have successfully charged another suspect for theft of pedal cycle in the City Centre.
Priority 2 To reduce the use of Illegal E-Scooters and overpowered/modified E-Bikes in City Centres spaces
YOU SAID: -Illegal E-Scooters and overpowered/modified E-Bikes are a concern for you in busy built up areas.
*JUNE UPDATE* -We continue to listen to you and the concerns you have raised to us about the use of illegal e-scooters and illegal/modified e-bikes in the City Centre. We have deployed several Operation Pedalfast deployments and have now seized a total of 239 of these vehicles from the streets. -This priority will continue this priority into the next quarter and have several more deployments planned.
Priority 3 To reduce anti-social behaviour and misuse of spaces within City Centre fast food outlets
YOU SAID: -Anti-social behaviour is being caused withing fast food outlets in the City Centre and you would like to see more of the local Police in these areas.
*JUNE UPDATE* -Over the Summer months the City Centre beat team will continue to tackle this anti-social behaviour which is why this priority will continue into the next quarter. -In total we have dealt with over 30 individuals for anti-social behaviour and they are at different stages of the incremental approach which has included verbal advice, written warnings and criminal behaviour orders. -The team have and will continue to support our fast food retailers with regular patrols and engagements.
