IntroductionNeighbourhood Police Commander ![]()
Welcome to our June edition of the community newsletter! As always, our goal is to keep you informed and engaged with the latest happenings in our local area.
Message from Neighbourhood Police Commander, Inspector Liz Perry
Some great investigation work has taken place this month.
Following a spree of theft from motor vehicles in Great Glen three individuals were arrested, two of which being bailed as part of the ongoing investigation and Clint Caines being charged and remanded to court for conspiracy to steal, theft and breach of a civil injunction.
Our proactive team have been developing intelligence in relation to cultivation of drugs in the local area and executed a warrant at an address in Tilton on the Hill. This resulted in a large cannabis factory located inside specially designed outbuilding and approximately £60,000 of cannabis recovered.
Operation Flux has been running to keep our roads safe. Officers have been involved in targeting dangerous driving, anti-social vehicle use, and road safety concerns. Multiple vehicles were stopped for speeding, loud exhausts and suspicious behaviour. Several drivers were breathalysed, one vehicle was seized for no insurance, officers patrolled local pubs and high streets and intelligence was gathered to support ongoing investigations.
We received two new police vehicles for the policing area funded through a Section 106 provision that is ringfenced for policing. The funding of these vehicles have directly benefitted community safety and policing in our area.
Our Police Cadets have been supporting us with community engagement in the area handing out information on crime prevention and raising awareness of county lines and neighbourhood link.
I was also humbled and honoured this month to be presented with the British Association of Women in Policing – Police Officer of the year award. Policing is a team effort and I’m fortunate to work alongside some of the most dedicated, compassionate, and resilient colleagues out there.
This week marks Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, a national campaign recognising the vital work of our local policing teams. Across Market Harborough district, Oadby, Wigston and South Wigston, you may have seen posts on social media highlighting the dedication and impact of our officers. From proactive patrols and community engagement to targeted enforcement around drug-related crime, our neighbourhood teams are working hard to keep our communities safe and connected. Their efforts are driven by your feedback, and we’re proud to celebrate the strong partnerships that make this work possible.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support and engage with local policing. Your voice matters—and together, we’re making a difference.
Much of the work carried out to keep residents of the district safe happens behind the scenes and often on a screen, so you may not always see the officers daily, but it does not mean they’re not working hard to keep you safe.
#YouSaidWeDid - What matters to youAnti-social Behaviour Officers have focused their patrols across key areas of the districts to maintain a visible presence, discourage criminal activity, and strengthen the community relationships we’ve been working hard to build. Our PCSOs have dedicated hundreds of hours—both on foot and in vehicles—patrolling locations identified by residents as priorities, particularly in relation to speeding and anti-social behaviour.
Road Safety officers have been focusing patrols on targeting dangerous driving, anti-social vehicle use, and road safety concerns. Multiple vehicles were stopped for speeding, loud exhausts, and suspicious behaviour. Several drivers have been breathalysed. Officers also patrolled local pubs and high streets to ensure public safety.
Drugs our local neighbourhood policing teams in Market Harborough and Wigston area have been stepping up efforts to tackle drug-related crime. Plain clothes patrols, community intelligence, and targeted warrants are making a real difference. Thanks to everyone who’s reporting concerns—your voice is helping keep our streets safer.
We’re committed to making our roads and communities safer for everyone. If you have concerns about dangerous driving or anti-social vehicle use in your area, please report it via 101 or online.
