Burbage Police Weekly Update. Appeals, Garden Crime And Drink Driving Arrests. |
||
|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Following the residential burglaries which we raised awareness of last week, on the 4th of January, we have a bit of a timeline for these incidents, so whilst we have completed work in these areas, we would just like to ask if you could review any CCTV you may have in the below areas. Any footage of suspicious vehicles or persons would be great. Sketchley Lane – Report of suspicious male in garden. 18:05 Grove Road (near Twycross Road) 19:26 Newstead Avenue – 19:50 Sapcote Road (near the Hinckley Road turning) unknown time but expected to be between 18:00-20:00
Reported Crime and Appeals
Regarding crime in Burbage since the 4th, we have had one report where a resident has returned home to find the house alarm activated and damage to the door frame. Incident is reported to have occurred between 16:30-18:00 on the 7th of January on Sunnyhill. Nothing taken, no untidy search and thankfully the house alarm went off. 26000012686
We have received 3 reports of what appears to be youth related criminal damage to fence panels. One report regarding a fence panel backing on to Hinckley Road Park and two reports of damage to gates/fence panels backing onto Pickering Place Park (The Meadows). It is assumed these are all linked. The timeframe is between the 8th and 9th of January. If you have any information as to who these probable youths are, please get in touch. Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
At 13:00 on the 10th, a male was arrested on Coventry Road for driving over the prescribed limit of alcohol following an RTC. Another male was also arrested at 23:00 following an RTC on Sketchley Road where he fled the scene but was quickly located by officers in the area. Arrested for s4 driving whilst unfit.
Patrols around Burbage at locations such as Atkins Way, Bridge Road, Hinckley Island Hotel, Forresters Road and The Three Pots area.
We have been completing patrols in Burbage in response to recent reports of burglary and shed breaks. A male was stop searched where a small quantity of drugs was recovered. We have also been completing work (Anti-social behaviour contract) with HBBC regarding some recent graffiti.
No surprise due to the weather but we have received calls regarding road traffic issues at locations such as Sapcote Road, Logix Road, Rugby Road, A5 Watling Street and M69/A5 areas.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Please continue to be mindful regarding theft from sheds. There appears to be continued activity relating to garden crime in the area so please consider CCTV for the back of your property, this also helps with residential burglary as most breaks are through the back of properties. Please also consider fence cactus spikes, alarmed padlocks, outdoor lighting and signage.
I have attached our crime reduction catalogue where items are sold at cost. Pop me an email if you need anything or would like further support/advice. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
It is unfortunate that in this day and age, some motorists are still deciding to drink/drug drive. If you have any information on anyone that is doing this, feel free to get in touch so we can look to take action. As though the roads are not of concerns as it is, due to the weather, we do not need these types of people putting residents at further risk. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Thank you and take care.
