Rutland South Beat Priorities Update |
||
|
Hi Rutland,
As we enter March, we start to look towards assessing and setting new beat priorities across Rutland. These change every quarter and are essentially the three most important issues highlighted through a combination of primarily resident surveys, alongside crime pattern analysis data and issues identified by our professional partners. These are the priorities for South Rutland, and what we have done to address them:
Road Safety: What we are going to do: As before we will provide frequent overt policing to the affected areas with marked vehicle patrols, and through the use of handheld speed monitoring guns. We will also continue work with our partners in road safety in order to highlight areas of concern and request deployment of resources, and continue education and information about responsible use of the roads via our social media channels. What we have done: During the start of 2026 we as a team have continued to address Road Safety across the area using the speed camera gun to monitor speed. Our Road Safety Vans also monitor speeding vehicle across the county The results from the mobile speed camera van visits to all location in Rutland can be viewed at www.speedsaftey.com
Anti-Social Behaviour: What we are going to do: Working with our partners we will support investigations into people causing harm in our communities, and take the lead where overt criminality is involved. Through our social media channels we will continue to promote avenues to reporting issues to the most appropriate agency. What we have done: During Jan 26 Anti-Social Behaviour in the beat area have remained very low, with ongoing work with partners to try and reduce this further. The neighbourhood team have provided a high visibility presence and will deal with anti social behaviour, on a case by case basis, working with our partners at RCC and housing providers to tackle the issue. If wish to report any ASB in your area please report it via 101 or report it online at www.leics.police.uk
Vehicle Crime: What we are going to do: Overt patrols of affected areas will continue, along with robust policing of suspected offenders and persons of note in line with our intelligence picture of the problem. We will continue to promote proactive ways to keep property safe through our social media channels, and offer crime prevention advice through our consultations and engagements. What we have done: During the last month we have had a number of theft from motor vehicles reported in the beat area. You are advised to secure your property and car keys before retiring for the night. We have continued to carried out overt proactive patrols across Rutland to prevent vehicle crime and stop any suspicious vehicles out and about overnight around the villages. Crime prevention advice has been sign posted across our social media channels so you can takes steps to safeguard your vehicle. If wish to report any vehicle crime contact call 999 if it is occurring live or if you are reporting an incident after it has taken place call 101 or report it online via www.leics.police.uk
Rutland is as diverse and unique as anywhere else, and so priorities can vary from beat to beat. For instance, priorities for Oakham Town Centre are often very different to that of residents in the Welland Valley, as much as they are different to the people of Ryhall and Essendine on our Northern Border.
we continue to encourage our communities to have their say through Neighbourhood Link surveys, our aim is to keep all residents that have signed up to this aware of issues happening in Rutland and to empower our communities to tell us what matters to them.
Surveys will be out soon, The more results we have, the better informed we are as to where to target our resources.
Have a great afternoon all,
PC McKinnon
