Belgrave Beat – UpdateBelow is a look at this week’s activity: 🔹 Retail Crime – Investigation UnderwayOfficers responded to a theft from a local store, immediately engaging with staff and gathering evidence. Thanks to swift partnership working with businesses, a suspect has now been identified, and enquiries continue. 🔹 Safeguarding Children – Protective Measures in PlacePC Thomas and PCSO Spendilow attended a sensitive safeguarding incident involving vulnerable children. Officers ensured protective measures were put in place quickly, working with partner agencies to secure positive outcomes and appropriate follow‑up support. 🔹 Community Beat Surgery – BAPS TemplePCSO Spendilow attended the community beat surgery at BAPS Temple, meeting with residents to discuss concerns, offer crime prevention advice, and strengthen community relationships. 🔹 Patch Patrol with Turning PointNeighbourhood officers joined forces with a Turning Point community worker to carry out a targeted patch patrol. Officers engaged with the public, identified alcohol and drug-related concerns, and provided information about available support services. 🔹 Community Engagement – EVA FM RadioPCSO Spendilow and Police Volunteer Farida (5544) visited EVA FM radio station for community engagement and planning future collaborative projects aimed at supporting local residents. 🔹 Welfare Visit for a Vulnerable VictimSgt Mistry and PC Thomas attended a vulnerable victim, conducting a welfare check and putting measures in place to ensure ongoing safety. The victim expressed their gratitude for the visit and continued support. 🔹 Assault on a Young Person – Rapid ResponsePC Whitehead (4708) and PCSO Spendilow were deployed to a vulnerable young person who had been assaulted in a park. The individual was safeguarded, transported safely home, and provided support. A suspect was identified, arrested, and is currently in police custody. 🔹 Closure Order Extension SecuredPC Thomas has successfully worked to obtain a further three‑month extension to a closure order on a problematic property linked to community harm. This measure will continue to protect vulnerable neighbours and reduce ongoing anti‑social behaviour in the area. 🔹 Ramadan Patrols – Traffic Offence & Vehicle SeizureWhile conducting evening Ramadan patrols, PC Whitehead and PCSO Spendilow spotted a vehicle attempting to drive the wrong way down a one‑way street. The driver had no licence, was reported for the offences, and the vehicle was seized. 🔹 Ramadan Command Team EngagementPC Thomas and PCSO Spendilow, accompanied by Sgt Mistry (Bronze Commander for Ramadan), continue to lead on evening patrols throughout the celebration period.
