Burbage Police. Graffiti Arrest, Drink/Drug Driving Arrests And Be Aware Of Vehicle Crime. |
||
|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage since our last update on the 9th (it has been a busy week with investigations so apologies for the delay). .
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of a theft of a VW Golf from a food delivery driver whilst delivering goods to a property on Brookside. The incident occurred at 12:35 on the 14th of May (towards the Rugby Road end). There are historical reports where delivery vehicles have been stolen whilst out and about and often this is made easier by drivers leaving their vehicles with the engine running. You never know who is about and what their intentions are. If you work for a delivery company of any sort, please do not leave vehicles with keys in.
Reports of a mini moto bike driving dangerously around the Canberra Way area at 17:20 on the 15th of May. Reports of 4 youths on the red and white bike. If you have any information as to who it is or where they are coming from, please pop me an email. Darren.streton@leics.police.uk
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
Two people have been identified and one person has been arrested in relation to the recent graffiti in Burbage. Bail conditions in place and we are continuing to complete work around these incidents. If you have any further information or CCTV from the 1st to the 8th of May around park areas, Tilton Road Co-op/hairdresser area, please pop me an email.
Driver arrested on Freemans Lane at 19:00 on the 15th of May due to attempting to drive a vehicle under the influence, and possession of Class A drugs.
Driver arrested on Bridge Road on the 17th of May at 12:00 due to driving under the influence.
We received a report of youth related anti-social behaviour around the Brookside Park area. Those involved have been identified and dealt with.
Beat surgery completed at the Co-op where we spoke to shoppers around issues such as residential burglary and vehicle crime. We also visited the Kidspace in the scouts hut, where the children sat in the Police car and tried on the Police uniform. It is a good opportunity to speak to our younger residents and engage with them. Lots of fun as usual with this age group.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Reports of suspicious activity around Burbage, which may be nothing of concern, but please stay alert and call 999 if you see a crime in progress. Concerns raised this week from several locations in Burbage around drug dealing. We will be patrolling areas which have been raised by residents.
We have been supporting residents with crime prevention around vehicle crime. Please ensure you have RFID wallets if you have a keyless vehicle. Please also ensure you use a steering lock. It has been a while since a vehicle was stolen up until this week so please be aware this activity may be returning.
Thank you and take care.
