Not your average stroll through the woods...
While most people go into the woods hoping to find wildlife, myself and PCSO Wittering managed to find something a little more unusual... a stolen telehandler hidden away amongst the trees.
Thankfully, this particular game of hide and seek didn't last long. Following a report from a vigilant member of the public, we attended the area, located the vehicle, and arranged for its recovery.
On a more serious note, telehandlers and other large plant machinery are increasingly being targeted by thieves. They're not just valuable in their own right, but can also be used in serious offences, including ATM Breaks and smashing into premises containing cash or other valuables.
If you own plant machinery, please make sure it's secured, tracked where possible, and any suspicious activity is reported.
A huge thank you to the member of the public who spotted something that didn't look quite right and took the time to report it. It shows that when communities and police work together, it's much harder for criminals to find a place to hide... even in the middle of the woods. PCSO Fen 6193
